Transparency Code

The Transparency Code was issued in 2014 to meet the Government's aspiration to place more power into citizens' hands to increase democratic accountability and make it easier for local people to contribute to the decision making process.

Mendip District Council are required to publish a number of defined data sets, containing a prescribed set of data fields, on either a quarterly or annual basis. The first quarterly data must be published by the 31st December 2014 and quarterly thereafter, no later than 1 month after the end of the period.  The first annual data is required to be published by 2nd February 2015 and then annually thereafter (annual data will be published, where available, in financial year periods).  Wherever possible, data is published in a machine readable format (this will usually be a .csv file).

Data which is published under the Transparency Code will be kept on line for at least 3 years.
