Training for local landlords and letting agents to be delivered in Mendip

Local landlords and letting agents are being invited to attend a one-day training session aimed at bringing them up to date on the latest legislation affecting the housing sector.

The training session which will take place at Mendip District Council's offices in Shepton Mallet, will cover the following areas:

  • - HMO Management Regulations
  • - Fire Regulations in HMOs
  • - HMO mandatory licensing
  • - Gas and Electrical Regulations
  • - Retaliatory Eviction in force
  • - Fitness Standard
  • - Tenant Fee ban update
  • - Universal Credit - Lucy Martin at Wells Job Centre

Cllr Nigel Woollcombe -Adams, Portfolio Holder for Planning Growth and Housing Services, said: "The training will not only benefit landlords new to the area it will also be useful for experienced landlords/managing agents.

"The session is great value and will ensure that landlords managing properties in Mendip are fully up to date with housing legislation and their legal responsibilities."

The training session takes place on 28th March 2019 from 9.30am - 4.30pm will be delivered by Stephen Fowler, who has many years of experience letting and managing rental properties.

Tickets are £30 and an early birds discount ticket price of £25 is available if you book your space by 15 March 2019.Lunch and refreshments are included in the ticket price.
