Wells Recreation Ground and Bishops Barn

The 15th century Bishops Barn is both a scheduled monument and Grade I listed building on the Wells Recreation Ground.

The site was a gift from Bishop Hervey to the people of Wells to celebrate the silver jubilee of Queen Victoria.  Today, the site is owned by the Wells Recreation Ground charity and Mendip District Council is the sole Trustee.  It is hoped that proposals to conserve and enhance the Bishops Barn and improve facilities on the Recreation Ground will deliver a sustainable future for the site.
