You should contact the Housing Options Team on 0300 303 8588 to make a homeless application. You can also make a homeless application online via our safe and secure online portal. The referral only takes a few minutes. You will be asked some questions over the telephone which should take approximately 30 minutes.
The officer will book you an appointment to talk to a Housing Options Officer who will assess if you are homeless or threatened with homelessness within 56 days. This assessment may be at your home, at the council offices in Shepton Mallet or over the phone.
If you are not homeless or threatened with homelessness, we can continue to work with you to help and support you with your housing situation through the provision of tailored housing advice or referral to another organisation.
If you are homeless tonight and it is outside of normal office hours, you will need to contact the Emergency Duty Team on 0300 1232327. The team will ask you a series of questions about your circumstances. Please be aware that this will only result in a temporary accommodation placement in limited circumstances and you will be asked to contact the Housing Options Team on the next working day
