Popular Sunday Market returns for May Spring fun
After a break for Easter, the Shepton Mallet Sunday Market returns on Sunday 19 May in the Market Place from 10am-3pm.
This month's market will feature entertainment from the Glastonbury Border Morris Dancers and live music, with a fancy dress competition for children.
The high street will be filled with the usual mix of market stalls featuring local produce, crafts, clothes, gifts and more, as well as the town's shops and cafés to enjoy.
Some of the traders at this month's market include, Frome Brewing Company, The Bee Lady, Saints Preserve Us, Somerset Smokehouse, The City Garden Co, Hillside Cheese and Bread, Naked Pantry, Stone's Cider, Tobyns Stained Glass, A Little Bit Sheepish, Diversity, Chateau Du Savon, Pretty Things and new for this month is HDmini.
Alison Calder, the baker behind Ali's Homemade Produce, is a regular trader in the town at the weekly Friday Market, and is looking forward to coming to May's Sunday Market. Her business produces homemade preserves, baked savoury & sweet goods, vegetarian & vegan options and meat pasties. Ali told us what she loves the most about being a market trader, "The passion of a hobby that turned into a business - promoting locally sourced seasonal items knowing that what I offer is appreciated by my customers. Plus the camaraderie of other market traders."
